4. You Are On Blast..Oprah Winfrey..Not for what you have done, but more so for what you forgot. 11-05-07
Two blasts coming at ya.
First I mailed you information on aids. Year or so ago? Having heard you speak about your passion for Africa, it's peoples and their plight with aids, one would think Oprah Winfrey would have a very open mind and would literally jump at an opportunity to help the many. Right? The package seems to have disappeared, probably in file 13. It was sent certified. I am quite surprised that there seems to be a desire for and definitely a need for help with aids, it more powerful "off-spring", and other facets of life. Right? We do need help with many if not most things of life. Yes? However do we really want help, for the sake of its benefits or do we want help for the sake of our own glorified aims, where we create our own end result?
Second O Blast?..Oprah, I don't think you thought this through. The all girls school in Africa is a wonderfully considerate, beneficial and needed, yet unfortunate undertaking. Let me ask, what was and is your intent? Why an all girls school when so many of those in Africa, need help? Are you unconsciously doing as many cultures have done with the births of girls? You know some societies have put baby girls to death? You also know that females in general, have suffered so much physical abuse. Right? Let me hope that your intent with the all girls school was to balance the many horrible injustices women have suffered in many parts of the world. (Well knowing that my hope and point of view probably means nothing to you). It is clear that these young souls do mean a great deal, as they should to us all.
Oprah, if you were moved by a spirit of justice to balance the injustices females have suffered, then why does it seem you have acclimated the same spirit of prejudicial behavior as those who have exercised gender punishment just for no reason than gender. You obviously lifted up the females, but what did you do for the males, the little boys? It seems they were left out. Did you feel they need no blessings, no up-liftment, no love from the famous and wealthy American, Oprah Winfrey?
Yes, Oprah it is your money and your gifts of course. I commend you. The problem is that, your plan is only at best, 50% as effective as it could have been. What is meant by 50%? These young ladies, before you Ms. Winfrey, had a life, a family and friends. And yes even within their families maybe the girls had friends that are boys. What hope did you give unto the boys, unto the entire communities?
Oprah, what I am saying is this: to exclude the boys, you excluded a part of the girls family foundations. Some have brothers yes? As teenagers and young ladies, should anyone expect these women to abandon their heritage, abandonee their friends and family? They will certainly be better educated than their piers and families right? How do you think their family members will feel? Happy of course. But how will the men receive this elite group of what they may see as the pampered?
If the men and boys have been taught no better than before the girls were lifted up, then what do we expect from these boys and men. Should we expect the men to sit around and feel less like men? Should we expect these boys which will become men, to abandon their heritage as the head of the African Family?
Who do we think these girls will love and marry? Should we think they will abandon the men of their Country, Cities and Villages?
I am afraid that such a belief is a bit too naive. Oprah if you really want to help: why not lift up everyone in the community. Jealousy and resentment are still very much alive and well. Give to them all and help them all to prosper and give back to each other and others.
Your intent is beautiful, and lovingly admirable. Perhaps some fine tuning would be beneficial.
